DUI Patrols Set for Super Bowl Sunday

Area DUI patrols are set for Sunday, Feb. 3 in an attempt to stop and arrest drivers who are impaired by alcohol or other drugs.

The roving patrols will be conducted throughout the area during Super Bowl Sunday. The patrols are funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety and deployed by Placer County’s Avoid the 7 DUI Task Force.

Roseville Police remind residents that if you will be attending a Super Bowl party or watching the game at a sports bar, to designate a sober driver before the party begins.

On Jan. 10 or 11, someone entered an apartment garage at 751 Central Park Drive, possibly through an unlocked door, smashed the window of a car parked inside, and took a wallet with the victim's ID and credit cards from the center console. Between 8 a.m. Jan. 24 and 8 a.m. Jan. 25, someone got into an apartment garage at the same complex by unknown means, and stole a snowboard, mountain bike and other items.

Between 6 p.m. Jan. 22 and 8:30 a.m. Jan. 23, someone pried a window in the back of a home under construction in the 2300 block of Mendota Way, and took an already-installed gas cooktop and two power saws.

Between 8:35 a.m. and 1:50 p.m. Jan. 24, someone broke a backyard-facing sliding glass door and burglarized a home in the 7000 block of Kelmscott Lane, taking jewelry, a camcorder and two iPads. A gray 1990s Chevrolet truck not known to the neighborhood was seen in the area that morning, but it's unknown if it had anything to do with the burglary.

Just before midnight Jan. 26, a resident of the 200 block of Elm Street came home, and two unknown males fled out a back window and ran away, last seen southbound on Oakland Street. They stole two watches from the home. The burglars were described as two Hispanic male adults, one thin and one heavy-set, wearing black clothing.

Between 9:20 a.m. and 3:10 p.m. Jan. 29, a home in the 6500 block of Rose Bridge Drive was burglarized. The burglar broke a rear sliding door to get in, and stole a safe containing cash and jewelry.
