Kitchen Fire Engulfs Attic of Roseville Home

The fire started as a result of cooking oil igniting on a stove top, according to Roseville Fire Department officials.

Roseville Fire Department crews were able to extinguish a house fire that quickly spread to the attic in an 800 block Main Street home.

Department spokesman Jeff Carman explained around 11:30 a.m. Thursday a resident in the single-family home was cooking on the stove with oil. When the oil ignited she attempted to extinguish the fire with a wet rag which stoked it further.

Carman noted no one was injured as a result of the fire.
