Gary L. Adair passed away suddenly from heart failure on August 4th, 2012 in Roseville, Ca. Gary was born in Ft Riley, KS on June 28, 1930 to Daniel L. Adair and Anna E. Carmichael Adair. Being an “army brat”, he lived on several army bases around the world, including Manila, Philippines where he attended the American School of Manila. His family, with brothers Robin and Daniel Lee relocated to San Carlos, Ca and he graduated in 1948 from Sequoia High School in Redwood City, Ca where he was a star basketball player. He served as a Marine in the Korean Conflict and received the Korean Service Medal and U.N. medal. He married M. Joann Wetzel in 1954 in San Mateo, Ca. They raised their two sons , Jeffrey Scott and Todd Elliott Adair in Redwood City. He worked for the Paddleford Auto Dealership in Palo Alto, Ca for 35 years as the Service and Auto Parts Manager. Gary devoted his free time to the Redwood City Elks Lodge #1991 serving as a Trustee for many years, golf and working in his spare time as a basketball referee for High School and College level competition on the SF Peninsula.In 2000 Gary and Joann moved to Lincoln Hills, Ca where he became very active with the Sempre Fi Association of Lincoln, Ca. He donated his time to their Toys for Tots program every year. He belonged to the Lincoln Hills Men’s Softball Team, Lincoln Hills Men’s Golf Club and the Bogey Busters Golf Club. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joann, brothers Robin and Danny, sons Jeffrey and Todd, grandchildren Amy Donnice, Zachary Connor, and great grandchild Gracie Donean. He will be interned in Evergreen Cemetery in Braymer, Mo. A celebration of life will be held on Sept. 15th, 2012 2pm at the Roseville Elks Lodge #2248 in Roseville, Ca.
