Join Sacramento Stork Walk in Roseville to raise funds for low-income pregnant women

More than 500 Sacramento-area residents will soar through Maidu Park in Roseville for the Sacramento Stork Walk on May 17, which will raise funds for free pregnancy services at the Sacramento Life Center, Alternatives Pregnancy Center and New Life Pregnancy Center, benefiting low-income pregnant women and teens. The family-friendly event will include bounce houses, face painting, balloons and local food trucks.

“This is a great opportunity for families, individuals and teams to come out and walk for mothers and babies in need of care,” said Marie Leatherby, executive director, Sacramento Life Center. “We also are excited to get the local business community involved through our sponsorship program. This will be a fun day celebrating the amazing work being done in our community to ensure low-income pregnant women and teens are well cared for.”

The 2K walk and 5K fun run raised $50,000 for the organizations last year. Registration is $25, but free for kids ages 12 and under. Check-in is at 8 a.m. The event will begin with a rally at 9:30 a.m., and the walk will begin at 10 a.m. Radio stations KLOVE and Air1 are sponsors and will have booths at the event. Water will be provided. Those who raise $250 or more will win a prize. For more information, to sign up or to make a donation, visit www.sacramentostorkwalk.org
