5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 30

Happy hours, puppets, Cotton Candy Express and more going on today in Roseville.

There’s always something going on in Roseville and this weekday column will keep you up-to-date on local events and news. We know you’re busy, so we promise to keep it quick with what you need to know to start your day.

  1. Mexican Puppet Show – At 10:30 a.m., there will be a Mexican Puppet Show and Storytime at the as part of the Summer Reading Club. The storytime is sponsored by the Friends of the Roseville Public Library.
  2. Police Resource Center – Fix-it tickets and vacation house check sign-ups can both be done at the Police Community Resource Center between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the . The police volunteers can also help with online crime reporting and answer questions about police services. For more information, call 916-774-5018.
  3. Cotton Candy Express – Today’s summer entertainment at the will be Cotton Candy Express, an interactive variety show. The series runs every Thursday through July 28 at 6 p.m. and features different entertainment each week.
  4. Happy Hours – Thursdays at Roseville Patch mean happy hours. That’s when we’ll be featuring the happy hour deals at local restaurants.   5. Host Families – Educational Homestay Programs are in need of families to play host to students from China. The students will study English and experience American culture. Their visit is quick – July 26 through Aug. 14. If you’re interested in hosting students, more information is available .
