BerryFest Set for Mother's Day Weekend

A strawberry celebration will take place at the Placer County Fairgrounds in Roseville May 12-13. The Johnsonville Big Taste Grill, a large mobile grill, will also make a stop during the festival.

It's a celebration of strawberries at the annual in Roseville.

You'll be able to sample all-things strawberry, like strawberry pizza, kettle corn, beer, tamales, pancakes, margaritas, shortcake, jam and more. The food festival will feature strawberries from local farmers, certified organic and local from Placer and bordering counties, according to Johny 5 Productions event website.

You'll also have the option to eat more than just strawberries — bratwurst. The Johnsonville Big Taste Grill, the world's largest touring grill, will make a Roseville stop during the BerryFest. They'll be serving up bratwurst to the crowd. The stop is park of their 18th annual nation-wide tour and will celebrate Johnsonville's 50th anniversary.

The BerryFest will also include a Strawberry Pageant for girls ages 1 to 15 who can be crowned Tiny Miss Strawberry, Wee Miss Strawberry, Little Miss Strawberry, Jr. Miss Strawberry and Jr. Teen Strawberry.

One car will also take the title of "Strawberry Classic" during the car show for the car that looks most like a strawberry.

Events also include a petting zoo, pony rides, kids area and cooking demonstrations. You can check out the BerryFest schedule here.
