Do you rock a perfectly groomed goatee? Does your handlebar mustache raise eyebrows?
Show off your facial hair at the ’s mustache and beard contest.
You could win more than just bragging rights – the owner of the award-winning beard or ‘stache will receive free pizza for a year from Round Table Pizza.
This is a first for this contest at the Placer County Fair, said Ryan Scalise, one of the men behind Cowboy Comb, a company responsible for the design of a 27-tooth mustache comb.
Presented by Cowboy Comb and the American Mustache Institute, Scalise said the contest is about more than rocking a mustache or beard, it comes to down to enthusiasm.
So, how will the contest work?
Hop on stage and show them what you’ve got! A team of three to five judges will determine one winner in each of the five categories – mustache, partial beard, full beard (groomed), full beard (natural) and free style. Then, it’s up to the crowd to pick the grand-prize winner, who will get pizza for a year.
Full details on each category can be found here.
There’s no need to register ahead of time, last-minute contenders can take the stage too. You can register beforehand, here.
The contest takes place at 8 p.m. Saturday at the fair.
