This week in Roseville, we heard news of a few new businesses coming to town including the possibility of the FBI relocating in Roseville. We also had a council meeting that brought up some controversial issues - a possible ordinance that could ban outdoor cultivation of medical marijuana and council asked a labor group to pay its full pension share.

- During the Chamber’s lunch, City Manager Ray Kerridge announced a few new businesses coming to Roseville and the possibility of an FBI office opening here.

- About 10,700 people will lose their jobs as nearly 400 stores close.

- That’s one issue the Roseville City Council tackled during the meeting Wednesday night. Downtown Tuesday Nights may also be extended by two weeks.

- The warehouse store had to evacuate this afternoon and close temporarily due to a reported Freon leak. Costco is back open.

- The kiddie pools at Roseville’s Bear Dog Park have been removed because of pet health reasons and drainage issues. Water fountains and hoses are still available.

- David Dominguez took over July 1 as interim superintendent for Eureka Union School District serving Roseville and Granite Bay.

- Councilmembers heard comments from about a dozen residents during Wednesday’s meeting, but tabled the item, pending more information and options.

- The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers employees will have to pay their full 8 percent employee contributions to CalPERS, saving the city $950K.

- In spite of Borders Books' impending closure, book lovers have plenty of reading options in Roseville.
