We had a mix of news this week from two big arrests and mailbox vandalism throughout the city to API scores and a behind the scenes look in Roseville's CSI department.

Here's a look at what went on in Roseville last week:

- Forensics investigator offers rare sneak peek into the profession at the Roseville Police Department.

- Lawrence Laquontia Taylor, 19, of Pittsburg, was arrested last week in Contra Costa County on a Placer County Superior Court warrant for robbery and related charges.

- A roundup of recent crime from the Roseville Police Department.

- More than 1,000 gathered Tuesday night to pay tribute to Kathleen Sirovy, former Oakmont High School principal. Sirovy lost her battle to brain cancer.

- Only two Roseville area elementary schools did not meet the state’s target score of 800. Nine elementary schools in the Roseville districts scored above 900.

- Roseville Police are investigating serious injuries to a 3-year-old boy. Investigators believe that the babysitter scalded the child with hot water as a form of discipline.

- Oakmont High School history teacher John Welch said teaching about Sept. 11 in the classroom can be a challenge.

- The toddler was in ICU for approximately 15 hours, according to Roseville Police.
