Casting Call for Pilot Show Monday in Roseville

A pilot show, "Better Than Unemployed?," is holding a casting call starting at 9 a.m. May 7 at Hyatt Place.

Calling all local actors: A new pilot is holding a casting call in Roseville Monday, May 7.

Two local companies are bringing a new pilot, "Better Than Unemployed?," to the Sacramento area with the intention of officially putting Sacramento on the production map. Quad Air Communications, a local production company since 1984, and M Communications, a local marketing and public relations firm, have teamed up to produce the comedic pilot.

"Better Than Employed?" is about an newly employed woman, Sam, forced to take a job as an event director after months and months of searching. She soon discovers that her boss is only concerned with his 23-year-old stripper girlfriend. Her assistant is perpetually on valium and she has walked into the biggest disaster of a beer tradeshow and has to deal with a drunk fraternity, the wrong keynote speaker, lack of an ABC license and much more.
