Los Cerritos Neighborhood Association Launches More Little Free Libraries

Little Free Libraries let people share books on the honor system. Roseville now has three.

They look like large bird houses, but they house books instead of birds. They're called Little Free Libraries and Roseville is now home to three.

On Friday, July 20, the Los Cerritos Neighborhood Association, which serves residents in neighborhoods near the Placer County Fairgrounds, will celebrate the installation of its second and third Little Free Libraries.

So what exactly is a Little Free Library? They are honor-system libraries. The rules are simple — if you take a book, donate one to share, or come back and return it, or both. The books are stored in mini house-like structures and the hope is that the program promotes reading, literacy and community engagement.
