Get Ready for Traffic Meters on Blue Oaks Ramp to Highway 65

The metering "is necessary to relieve congestion on Highway 65 and to allow for safe merging from the on-ramp to the highway," according to Caltrans.

Commuters will soon be stopping more often at the Blue Oaks Boulevard onramp to Highway 65.

Caltrans turned on new ramp meters there Monday, but will keep them green for a week, according to a city of Roseville press release.

Starting on July 15, the signals will operate from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

"A traffic study was completed to set the metering rate, which is expected to be similar to other meters within Roseville," the city press release says, noting that Caltrans owns and operates all ramp meters in the state. "For the first 2 to 3 days, Caltrans will have staff on site to monitor and adjust the ramp metering to ensure optimal operation. The right turn from Blue Oaks Blvd. onto southbound Washington Blvd. will not be affected."
