The man who drowned in Lake Natoma last week has been identified as a 19-year-old from Roseville.

Guillermo Contreras drowned Friday evening after attempting to swim across a channel at Lake Natoma, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

Guillermo Contreras was swimming with a friend near the Aquatics Center at Lake Natoma when he went missing around 8 p.m. Crews arrived to find another man who was frantic, tired and exhausted, and said that the two were crossing the channel when he lost sight of Contreras.
