Oakmont HS Alum Called up to Cleveland Indians

Preston Guilmet will pitch in the major leagues.

A Roseville native has been promoted from a minor-league baseball team to the Cleveland Indians.

Preston Guilmet, who graduated from Oakmont High School in 2005, learned about the call-up while pitching in a doubleheader for the Columbus Clippers Saturday.

"There's no real word that describes the feeling," a Cleveland Indians release quoted Guilmet as saying. "It's just a thrill to finally get the opportunity."

Guilmet played college baseball for the Arizona Wildcats, takes the place of Carlos Carrasco in the Indians' lineup.
