5 Ways to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Roseville

Cinco de Mayo, which takes place on Saturday, May 5, is a holiday to commemorate Mexican heritage and pride. For some, it's also a day to sip margaritas and indulge in Mexican fare like enchiladas and street tacos.

Roseville Patch is here to help you celebrate. Here are 5 places and ways to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Roseville this year:

1. Cinco de Mayo Run — UPDATE: This race has been canceled.

Burn off those anticipatory Cinco de Mayo calories by running or walking in Roseville's Cinco de Mayo 5K and 10K run and walk. The race begins at 9 a.m. on the Miners Ravine Trail.

After the race, start your celebration — they'll have a fiesta with food, drinks, dancing and games.

Tickets are $30 for the 5K and $35 for the 10K for adults on race day; $15 for children age 15 and under. Race organizers also ask that participants bring at least one can of non-perishable food for the Roseville St. Vincent de Paul food locker. 2. Fiesta at El Azteca Taqueria

If you haven't tried yet, Cinco de Mayo is a great time to find out why it was by Roseville Patch readers.

For Cinco de Mayo, they are holding a fiesta with live music, drink specials and the Tecate Girls.

3. Mas Cocina Mexicana Fiesta

Mexican restaurant opens at 11 a.m. for a fiesta with entertainment like a live mariachi band and Ballet Folklorico and food like street tacos and drink specials.

4. Sports Page Restaurant and Bar Patio Party

A few doors down from Mas, will also be celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a patio party. From 1-10 p.m. they will offer Dos Equis Amber and Tecate on draft outside for $3 as well as $5 Karma Tequila drink specials. They'll also be serving up street tacos and their Mexi-Nachos.

5. Chevys Fresh Mex 7-Day Celebration

is stretching out its celebrations and meal deals for 7 days, through Sunday, May 6. Their calling Saturday's festivities "the mother of all Cinco parties" and will have a party, games, drink specials and more. They are also debuting the mango margarita.
