Business News: Flip Shop Shops Opens at Westfield Galleria

In our latest Business News column, we have news of a couple new shops opening at the Westfield Galleria at Roseville and Fountains at Roseville, while a popular business celebrates a milestone.

Flip Flop Shops — This flip flop shop opened its first Sacramento-area location at the Westfield Galleria at Roseville today, July 27. The shop carries flip flop and sandal brands Reef, Quiksilver, OluKai and Cobian among others.

Flip Flop Shops began franchising in January 2008 and has more than 60 shops open in the U.S. and they’re still expanding. They plan to have more than 200 locations open or in the planning phase by 2013, according to the company. Visit their website for more information.

Kenny G & Company — Kenny G & Company jewelry store plans to open another Roseville location at the Fountains at Roseville, the Sacramento Bee reports. According to the Bee, they plan to open a 2,700-square-foot space before Thanksgiving.

Blacktop Comedy — This Roseville improv comedy theater is celebrating its one-year anniversary in Roseville.

In a message to fans, they wrote:

“We’re glad you’re with us on this exciting comedy journey. We’re making it up as we go along (which, seems fitting considering we’re an improv theater).

"One year ago, we looked very different, and very nervous. One year ago we were “auditioning,” seeing if we were needed in the area. We didn’t know if the world wanted another theater. There’s a lot of theater’s in Sacramento, could one more squeeze in? Flash forward to today, and we’re not nervous. We’re grateful! Roseville, and the entire region has welcomed us with open arms!

"We’ve found a community who wants to learn, grow, and laugh. Improv comedy is our passion, and we’re striving to make this place the best, most welcoming theater imaginable."
