Chevys Restaurants' Parent Company Files for Bankruptcy

Real Mex restaurants is reportedly trying to sell off its assets.

The parent company of Chevys Fresh Mex restaurants has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, according to published reports.

An article in the Silicon Valley Business Journal states Real Mex Restaurants is seeking to sell off its assets because it couldn't reach an agreement to restructure its debt obligations.

In the Sacramento area, there are Chevys restaurants in Roseville, Rocklin, Auburn, Sacramento, Elk Grove and Dixon as well as other locations.

There is no word yet on the whether any restaurants will close.
