Signe King Memorial Dinner to Benefit Placer Breast Cancer Endowment

The Placer Breast Cancer Endowment and La Provence Restaurant are teaming up once again to host the Sixth Annual Signe King Memorial, Thursday, May 17, in remembrance of local women who have lost their fight with breast cancer.

The event, which will feature a gourmet dinner, wine tasting and live music, was created in memory of local business woman and community volunteer, Signe King, who passed away in 2005 following a lengthy battle with breast cancer. The evening is a key fundraiser for the Placer Breast Cancer Endowment whose goal is to raise $1.5 million to fund a Breast Cancer Endowed Chair at UC Davis.

"We are committed to raising awareness of breast health issues and available resources in our region while we raise funds for an Endowed Chair at UC Davis," commented Endowment co-founder and breast cancer survivor, Carol Garcia. "It is our goal to provide the dedicated resources necessary to fund research towards a cure," she added.
