Lincoln High Cashes in on Car Test Drives

Check for $1,180 recently presented for its participation in Ford dealership's 'Drive One 4 UR School.'

Lincoln High School was recently presented a check for $1,180 for a fundraiser through a local car dealership.

Future Ford Lincoln of Roseville and Ford Motor Company donate $20 for every person who takes the wheel and test drives a vehicle at one of the "Drive One 4 UR School" events, according to a news release by the dealership. Sixty people test drove vehicles during the donation event last month.

"This is such a wonderful fundraising opportunity for the community to participate in," said Lincoln High School Assistant Vice Principal Mike Maul.

Since the "Drive One 4 UR School" fundraising program was created in 2007, more than $10 million in donations have been raised for schools nationwide, the release stated.

"We know funding for school programs is hard to come by, and we want to do our part to make sure these programs remain available," said Mike Mello, marketing director at Future Ford Lincoln of Roseville. "We were thrilled to have such a great turnout and look forward to teaming up with Lincoln High School again next year."
