Mobile Food Trucks: Which is Your Favorite?

Locals had the chance to try grub from six mobile food trucks at the Food Truck Mania at the Fountains at Roseville Thursday night. Which was your favorite?

Mobile food trucks have been in the Sacramento spotlight for quite some time now and thankfully they've been making some Roseville stops.

I'll admit that I was a food truck virgin until about a year ago. My first food truck experience was last summer during the . Now, every time a roundup comes to town, I make a point to stop by and try something new.

It's fairly inexpensive, the food is good and it's a change of pace to a meal out — that's why I find the mobile food truck roundups fun.

I definitely don't claim to be a food critic, but I do like food. So if you're interested in which items I've taste-tested and suggest, read on. And if you have a favorite, please share below!

Krush Burger (formerly MiniBurger): I had a few people recommend this truck, so my husband and I gave it a try. The special that day was called Lil Squirt — A mini burger with squirt-braised carnitas topped with chipotle barbecue sauce, pineapple salsa and avocado crema. Delicious. What I loved about this burger was the tropical-ness. The pineapple and avocado crema together with the carnitas was an unexpectedly good combo, in my opinion. This one may not always be on the menu, but if it is, give it try.

Chando's Tacos: If you like spicy, try the tacos. Their tacos are filled with char-broiled chicken marinated in Chando's homemade Achiote sauce and citrus juice sauce and topped with cilantro and onion. I found the chicken to be juicy and tender. It definitely hit the spot for a late lunch. But beware, I found them to be pretty zippy, so keep a drink nearby.

Drewski's Hot Rod Kitchen: I tried the Tricycle grilled cheese sandwich made with three cheeses — Swiss, Havarti and cheddar — melted between two buttery slices of French bread. When it comes to grilled cheese, the grilled bread has to be perfectly grilled and this one was. And the three cheeses blended and melted perfectly together. Yum.

Smoothie Patrol: I opted for a tropical lemonade smoothie made with strawberries, pineapple and lemonade — the perfect blend of sweetness and a great way to cool off.

What mobile food truck should I try next? Do you have a favorite? I'd love to hear which trucks and menu items are your favorite.
