Sangria to Fill Former Piatti Restaurant

Azita Alizadeh, sister of Abe Alizadeh, will open the restaurant, according to The Sacramento Bee.

Piatti Ristorante closed its Roseville location in September 2010 but recent activity has some people talking. An article in The Sacramento Bee revealed that Azita Alizadeh, Abe Alizadeh's sister, will be opening a Mediterranean restaurant in that spot.

Despite the announcement, the City of Roseville has not received any permits for work such as a business license or signs, according to Karen Garner with the city's economic development department. Garner said the owner is currently doing "touch-up" type work that does not require a city permit.

The restaurant, called Sangria, is expected to open sometime in April, according to the Bee.

While this is good business news, the Alizadeh name has a reputation in Roseville. Developer Abe Alizadeh went bankrupt and was accused of stealing state tax dollars, the Bee reports.

The 5,000-square-foot spot at the corner of Douglas Boulevard and E Roseville Parkway has been vacant since the Italian restaurant closed.

Fascinating if true. I hope she has better business sense than her brother.

Thanks for the update - we were driving by there in the last week and were trying to tell if we were really seeing some activity. Nice to know the scoop.

I used to work for the maniac known as Abe Alizadeh. The man was a tyrant and a bully and the most horrible person I have ever met. His family was one who was used to getting their way when they wanted it and they would walk over anyone in their way. In their corporate offices out of a staff of about 10, inside of a month half the people walked out. He had the IT guy cooking the books and doing AP/AR. It was a joke. When I read about his financial breakdown....he should be in a cell with Bernie Madhoff.

Maybe the California tax payers should stop by, dine, and leave not paying the bill. Essentially, thats what this family did with taxpayer money.

I agree w Harold. Abe and family are nothing but thrifts. They have destroyed family's lives; financially, emotionally. They are crooks and no should support their restaurants, including Crush or Blue Suede, both in Roseville . Shame in them, and shame on ANYONE eating at those places and giving the Alizadahs money. May they suffer in prison and rot in hell. Those are my wishes for that creep.
