Walmart Neighborhood Market Opens in Granite Bay

The store is located at the Granite Bay/Roseville border.

Walmart Neighborhood Market opened to the public Wednesday morning, Sept. 19 in Granite Bay.

The market, located at the Roseville/Granite Bay border at 4080 Douglas Blvd., opened today, along with four others in the region, The Sacramento Bee reports.

Despite there being a Walmart in Roseville about 2 miles away, the company hired about 60 people for this Granite Bay store that runs under a fairly new concept: Neighborhood Markets, which are designed to help with quick trips and a spot to pick up groceries, general merchandise and items from the pharmacy, according to Walmart.

The Granite Bay store will offer services like groceries, a garden center and a one-hour photo center, according to Walmart's website.
