Citrus Heights Man Identified as Victim in Deadly Roseville Crash

A 36-year-old man died in the three-vehicle collision.

The following is a news release from the Roseville Police Department:

The driver who died at the scene of [Tuesday's] fatal traffic collision on Foothills Boulevard and Chignahuapan Way was Chad Duwayne Stevens, age 36, of Citrus Heights.

At 3:17 p.m. yesterday, December 10, Roseville Fire and Roseville Police personnel responded to a three-vehicle traffic collision on southbound Foothills Boulevard at Chignahuapan Way. They found that Mr. Stevens, driving a 1995 Chrysler sedan, had attempted to turnleft from Chignahuapan Way onto northbound Foothills, and drove into the path of a 1996 Ford pickup that was being driven southbound on Foothills. The Ford pickup struck the Chrysler broadside, and then had a secondary collision with a 2014 Kia sedan that was northbound on Foothills Boulevard.

Mr. Stevens was pronounced deceased at the scene. The male driver of the Ford pickup was taken to a local hospital by ambulance withminor injuries. The two occupants of the Kia did not report being injured. There were no obvious signs that alcohol or other drugs played a role in this collision.

Roseville Police Department’s Major Injury Accident Team is investigating the collision. The southbound lanes of Foothills Boulevard and one northbound lane of Foothills were closed between Main Street/Baseline Road and Vineyard Road for approximately five and a half hours while investigators examined the scene.
