29-Year-Old Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on Auburn Folsom Road

Matthew Bohling was killed early Sunday morning in Granite Bay.

A 29-year-old Rancho Cordova resident was killed early Sunday morning after the car he was driving veered off the roadway and crashed into two concrete poles, a fire hydrant and a tree. 

According to California Highway Patrol, Matthew Bohling was driving a Honda Civic northbound on Auburn Folsom Road in Granite Bay, approaching Eagle View Lane just before 2 a.m. Sunday, April 7, when he lost control of his vehicle, traveled across the southbound lanes and went off the road.

According to CHP, they don't know how fast he was driving or if alcohol or drugs were factors in the single-vehicle accident.

Bohling sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene by South Placer Fire personnel, according to CHP.
