The amount of DUI arrests during the Fourth of July weekend slashed by almost half compared to last year’s numbers in Roseville, according to Dee Dee Gunther, spokesperson for the .
This year, Roseville Police made nine DUI arrests during the holiday weekend – eight fewer than last year. During July 1-5 of 2010, Roseville Police made 17 DUI arrests, Gunther said.
No DUI arrests were made in Roseville on the Fourth of July - the majority were made on July 3. Gunther said there were no reported DUI-related accidents over the weekend.
Gunther said she wasn’t sure what contributed to the lower number of DUIs this year, but could have been related to the Fourth of July falling on a Monday this year.
Roseville Police also received 86 calls related to fireworks complaints. Of those, 64 were on the Fourth of July. Three resulted in .
“It was busy, but fortunately nothing bad,” Gunther said.
