A driver was hospitalized Sunday night after the car she was driving hit a cow on Baseline Road just west of Roseville, the CHP said Monday.
The driver, a 21-year-old woman from North Highlands, hit the animal about a mile-and-a-half west of Watt Avenue, CHP Officer David Martinez said.
The woman's 1998 Volkswagen Beetle received "major front-end damage" and she was taken to the hospital with major injuries, Martinez said.
Baseline Road was closed temporarily after the crash.
Martinez didn't have any further information, but did not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Check back for more information as it becomes available.
