Hundreds of Marijuana Plants Seized in Illegal Roseville Pot-Growing Operation

The following is a press release from the Roseville Police Department:

[Tuesday, Nov. 5], detectives from Roseville Police Department’s Vice and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VNET) discovered an extensive indoor marijuana growing operation inside a house in the 9500 block of Highland Park Drive.

VNET detectives started investigating after receiving complaints from neighbors about a very strong odor emanating from the house, which is across the street from a neighborhood park.   They served a search warrant for the house, and found that most of the space in the two-story house was being used to grow and process marijuana.

The detectives seized approximately 200 marijuana plants, packaging materials and other evidence related to marijuana cultivation and sales.  They also found that the suspect had illegally cut into pre-metered electrical services coming into the house to provide power for the cultivation, stealing electricity from Roseville Electric’s grid.

The resident, Giovanni Anthony Vizcarra, age 26, was arrested on suspicion of cultivating marijuana for sale and other related charges, and theft of utility services.   He's since been released from jail on a $20,000 bail bond.
