Map: January Catalytic Converter Thefts in Roseville

A look at where catalytic converter thefts have occurred recently in Roseville.

Catalytic converter thefts are on the rise in the region.

According to Roseville Police, thieves typically target Toyota pickups and SUVs and other models of vehicles that are high off the ground and easy to crawl under. 

Roseville Police Department offered some tips for owners of these vehicles:

  • The safest place to store it at night is inside your locked garage. 
  • During the day, we recommend parking in busy, well-traveled areas, and as always, removing all valuable items from your car. 
  • If you see anyone acting suspiciously in neighborhoods or parking lots, looking in or under vehicles, please call 911 immediately to have police check them out.

Between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Jan. 6, a catalytic converter was stolen from a Nissan Frontier pickup at a park and ride lot on Taylor Road. Another one was taken from a Toyota pickup at the same lot during the day on Jan. 9.

Overnight on Jan. 8 or early morning on Jan. 9, someone stole catalytic converters from Toyota pickups and SUVs parked in the following locations:

1800 block of Hillmont Way
2000 block of North Cirby Way
2200 block of Lee Way
1200 block of McKinley Drive
1900 block of McLaren Drive
1800 block of Sheffield Way

Three catalytic converters were stolen from Toyota pickups in the Sierra Gardens neighborhood between Jan. 9 and 12.  The thefts occurred most likely during nighttime hours on the 1200 block of McKinley Drive and the 1700 block of Tanglewood Lane.

Between Jan. 10 and Jan. 17, three catalytic converters were stolen from a parking lot in the 1700 block of Taylor Road during daytime hours.

Overnight on Jan. 11/12, someone stole catalytic converters from Toyota pickups in the 400 block of W. Whyte Ave. and the 600 block of Lyndhurst Ave.

Between Jan. 13 and 15, someone stole a catalytic converter from a Toyota Sequoia SUV parked in the driveway of a home in the 100 block of Halley Glen Drive.

Catalytic converters were stolen from two vehicles, a Hyundai SUV and a Nissan pickup, in the Taylor Road/I80 Park and Ride lot during the day on Jan. 19.

Between 2:30 p.m. Jan. 22 and 8 a.m. Jan. 25, someone stole a catalytic converter from a Toyota 4-Runner parked at an apartment complex at 1751 East Roseville Parkway.
