A 54-year-old man from Rocklin is in critical condition Monday after he and his motorcycle were pinned under an SUV in Roseville Sunday.
The man was riding his 1999 BMW motorcycle southbound on Sierra College Boulevard near Douglas Boulevard around 1:09 p.m. when an SUV pulled out from a driveway and hit him, police say.
The Toyota SUV was driven by a 70-year-old woman from Antelope, police say. She was exiting a driveway on the east side of Sierra College Boulevard and was turning south when she hit the motorcyclist and pinned him under her vehicle, Roseville Police Department spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther said.
"The motorcycle rider was trapped under her vehicle and had to be extricated," Gunther said in an email. "He was transported by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition. Officers don’t suspect alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision."
The crash closed Sierra College Boulevard until about 6:20 p.m., Gunther said. The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Roseville Police Department.
