Roseville firefighters will be taking donations to help "Fill the Boot" this weekend, raising money for children and adults suffering from muscle disease. The money raised will support the local chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Expect to see off-duty firefighters from the Roseville Fire Department at two Roseville locations — at the intersections of Fairway Drive and Pleasant Grove Boulevard and Douglas and Sierra College boulevards — where they will asking drivers to drop a few cents or dollars into their boots.
They'll be collecting donations from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8.
Firefighters from Rocklin, CAL FIRE and the Sierra College Fire Academy will also assist in the "Fill the Boot" fundraiser.
Money raised will help to send local children with muscular dystrophy to a week of barrier-free MDA summer camp in Portola, in California.
