Roseville Mom Pleads Not Guilty in Death of Her Toddler

Denise Wilder is charged with child abuse in connection with the death of her 2-year-old daughter McKinley Wilder.

Denise Marie McGrath Wilder entered a not guilty plea during her arraignment Tuesday afternoon, the Sacramento Bee reports.

The 37-year-old Roseville mom was arrested June 15 in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, McKinley Wilder. , neglect or endangering health, under circumstances likely to produce great bodily harm or death.

by Roseville Police. The arrest came after autopsy results released recently determined that McKinley Wilder died due to acute alcohol toxicity and acute malnutrition.

McKinley Wilder was found dead at the Diamond Oaks Road home in Roseville when police arrived around 5 p.m. April 4. A family friend went to the home and called police after finding the child wasn’t breathing, according to earlier reports.

Denise Wilder was arrested on suspicion of murder in April, , pending autopsy results and the cause of death.

Denise Wilder is being held without bail in the Placer County Jail.

A bail hearing will be held at 8:30 a.m. July 5, the Bee reports.
