Roseville Police are warning residents of a recent scam.

Roseville Police are alerting residents to a rental scam.

The local told Roseville Police they found a rental home listed on Craigslist, but was suspicious about giving a security deposit before seeing the house. The advertiser requested to have the rent and security deposit sent to her via Western Union before she would show the house, according to Roseville Police.

The potential renter called the realtor listing the property and found that the Craigslist advertiser was not the owner and was not authorized to rent the house.
