Trio Arrested on Burglary Charges: Is Any of This Property Yours?

A cache of stolen property from the Lincoln/Sheridan area was found and three Loomis men arrested. Placer County sheriff's investigators seek people who may have been targeted by the burglars.

Three men were arrested in Loomis Friday for allegedly committing a string of burglaries in which a large amount of power tools and lawn equipment was taken.

Investigators with the sheriff's office seek residents who may have been targeted by the suspects, "most likely from the rural Lincoln/Sheridan areas," according to Placer County sheriff's information officer, Dena Erwin.

Arrested were Trevor Lewis, 20, Mark Allen Cox, 19 and Richard E. Burns, 34; they were picked up at two different addresses Friday, based on descriptions provided by residents who spotted men trying to burglarize them Thursday afternoon.

The men were booked on suspicion of burglary, receiving stolen property and conspiracy, Erwin said.

Burns was released; it was unclear whether he made bail or whether he was let out on his own recognizance.

Cox was behind bars Friday evening in lieu of $50,000; Lewis was being held in lieu of $125,000, Erwin reported.

Anyone who has had power tools or lawn equipment taken recently is asked to call sheriff's Sgt. Brian Whigam, 530-889-7856.
