Crime Watch: Parolees Arrested on Eureka Road

The suspected Granite Bay burglars were driving in a stolen van with a loaded shotgun and ammunition.

Attentive police work led to the arrest of two parolees driving in a stolen van with a loaded shotgun and ammunition in the Johnson Ranch area of Roseville Sunday. The two are also suspected of recently burglarizing a Granite Bay residence.

A foot pursuit ensued at 2 p.m. along the 1800 block of Eureka Road after a police officer recognized the van's driver as a local parolee, according to Roseville Police reports.

One suspect was arrested in the greenbelt area of Eureka. And the other was arrested in a nearby apartment complex where he lived.

While searching the stolen van, officers recovered the shotgun and ammunition. Inside the arrestees' apartment they found property taken during a recent Granite Bay residential burglary.

The fleeing parolees were arrested on suspicion of weapons violations, possession of stolen property and violation of parole, police reports stated.

Another two adults were also arrested on suspicion of being accessories after the fact.
