DOMA Struck Down: Roseville Reacts

Same-sex marriage ban is ruled unconstitutional. What's your reaction?

Reactions flood social media as Californians respond to news that the U.S. Supreme Court struck down DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act, in a 5-4 vote in a decision Wednesday morning.

The act had prohibited the U.S. government from recognizing same-sex marriage.

When we asked Roseville Patch Facebook followers if the court got it right, we heard a mix of reactions. Here are a few of them:

"They should have made marriage equal in all states, but this is still a great win."

"Yes, they got it right. Federal Government should not be involed in this issue in the first place."

"The rights of the minority should NEVER be put to a popular vote. They should be protected fiercely by the majority. I am happy that my homosexual friends now have equal protection under the law. That said, the government should really stay out of the business of marriage all together, hetero or homo."

"wrong. the liberals only care if it goes against their immoral beliefs."

See how Roseville reacted on Twitter above.
