It takes a lot of money to run for office, and that cash has to come from somewhere.
All across the country, most candidates at all levels are fundraising away, building campaign "war chests" to spend on signs, ads, mailers and events before the big day in November.
This is especially true at the national level, where TV commercials and other advertisements can easily rack up the bills.
