Last week, within the Roseville City School District that will open for the 2013-14 school year.
The school, which has not been named yet, would serve students in the newer west Roseville neighborhoods.
District Superintendent Richard Pierucci said the school is necessary because of increasing enrollment in that area of Roseville. However, this new school will open as another school closes. .
Pierucci said the two district areas are facing different issues.
“(We are) expanding in the west side of the district. The other situation we have on the east side of the district, we have declining enrollment issues we’re facing,” he said. “We’re already beyond capacity at Junction Elementary to house students.”
