A NASCAR Whelen race scheduled for this weekend at the All-American Speedway has been canceled because of concerns over heat and air quality.
"Due to severe temperatures and Placer County having a Spare the Air alert for the weekend, we are cancelling this weekend's racing," the racetrack's website states. "We will be making up the races later in the season. So stay close to the air conditioner or your favorite pool. It was a tough decision but feel that it is in the best interest of our fans, race teams, and our staff."
