Consumers Asked To Show Some Love For Their Farmers Market This Summer

A non-profit organization is asking consumers to support their local farmers market this summer by pledging to shop there.

American Farmland Trust has kicked off its I Love My Farmers Market campaign for 2013. It's the fifth consecutive year for the summertime program.

The trust is asking consumers to pledge to spend $10 during one week of the summer at their local farmers market. They hope to raise $1 million to help local farms by the time the campaign ends on Sept. 9.

The Foothill Farmers Market is open from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays at the Fountains at Roseville near Whole Foods Market. A farmers market is also held during Downtown Tuesday Nights in Downtown Roseville on Vernon Street from 5-9 p.m. Tuesdays. The Denio's Farmers Market is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturdays and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
