Roseville Scavenger Hunt

Don't you just love the goats?  They're our newest moving landmark!  Where are they grazing this week in Roseville?

Katie Silva located the herd of goats behind the Rite Aid on the corner of Pleasant Grove Blvd.  and Roseville Pkwy.

This is from the City of Roseville webpage:

Goats In Your Neighborhood

The City of Roseville is conducting a vegetation control project in the open space and preserves. One herd is located in the Sun City Del Webb Preserve and a second herd grazing in the Highland Reserve South Preserve. Goats provide an innovative, environmentally sensitive way to reduce fire fuel load by keeping open space vegetation under control.

During the project a low voltage electric fence will surround the goats and companion dogs will also be used.  The animals will be accompanied by a caretaker who will be on site 24 hours a day.

The City of Roseville has a successful track record using goat grazing as a method of vegetation management.  In previous years, grazing in open space areas successfully reduced combustible grasses and thinned out dense vegetation, increasing safety in our community.
