Mark Your Calendars for Santucci Golf Tournament

The eighth annual Bill Santucci Memorial Golf Tournament will take place Friday, Sept. 30 at Sierra View Country Club in Roseville.

The eighth annual Bill Santucci Memorial Golf Tournament will take place Friday, Sept. 30 at in Roseville.

The charity outing is named in honor of Bill Santucci, a dedicated community leader in Roseville for several decades. An avid golfer, Santucci and California State Senator Ted Gaines were the original founders of the golf tournament. Gaines and Placer County Supervisors Kirk Uhler and Jack Duran are this year’s tournament hosts.

The proceeds from the tournament, which is presented by Community 1st Bank, will be used for scholarships to help graduating Roseville High School District seniors and students at Sierra College. Last year the popular event raised more than $30,000 and provided 27 scholarships to deserving South Placer students.

“Bill Santucci was the consummate public servant for many years and always had the best interests of Roseville and Placer County citizens in his heart,” Gaines said. “He loved this golf tournament and would be honored to have his name attached to such a worthy community endeavor that helps promotes higher education.”

The four-person scramble format tournament begins with a 10 a.m. registration, followed by lunch at 11 a.m., and a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start at Sierra View, located at 105 Alta Vista Ave. A reception with appetizers and awards will follow the tournament.

Cost is $125 per person and includes range balls, barbecue lunch, awards, raffle prizes and appetizers.

Sponsorships of all levels are still available. The tournament is limited to 128 players.
