Photo Gallery: Volunteers Spruce up Roseville Transitional Houses

Kaiser Roseville and AmeriCorps volunteers spent Martin Luther King, Jr. Day beautifying Roseville Home Start transitional houses.

For some locals, they spent their day off helping others.

About 45 people from and about 10 from AmeriCorps volunteered their time on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day to prepare 15 transitional housing units at for new tenants.

The volunteers spent their morning deep cleaning, paining, raking leaves, cleaning gutters, washing windows and making the homes move-in ready. They were among more than 200 Kaiser Permanente employees in the Sacramento area that honored the memory of Martin Luther King, Jr. by volunteering their time.
