We have to make people aware that our State is run by public employee Unions and we need court casesRead More like today which ruled that the California Teacher Tenure rules are unconstitutional so that we can change laws and vote people out of office who do not represent the interests of the public who pay the taxes.

Something that is interesting to note is that high school grads are going to four year universitiesRead More and studying subject that isn't marketable. While on the other hand you have people getting vocational training at vocational schools that essentially guarantees them a job out of school that will make them 'x' amount of money. So it isn't that college degrees are worthless, some are. It is also said that sometimes trade school is the right choice! Considering the high number of English language learners in California, the reading score doesn'tRead More surprise me.
John April 25, 2013 at 12:33 pm
these rankings are questionable being that is the school scores righteous being that schools inRead More more affluent areas are supplemented by parents adding extra schooling via tutoring whereas schools where its not so affluent and less likely to add additional tutoring.....it skews what the school alone achieved.

Ya I agree

Let's be thankful that the Governor and the Democrats pushed Proposition 30 through in 2012. If itRead More were up to our local political "worthies" it would have never happened.
John April 19, 2013 at 02:01 am
prop30 will only be to help the unions with more money...today schools get some but its onlyRead More guaranteed for ONE year...after that expect a RAID on general fund away from schools

People don't read propositions, and vote because of manipulated television ads. This propositionRead More will only work this year to help our students and teachers. Next year they will not see the "windfall" and politicians and unions will once again be shaming the community into voting for more money that will not go to the students and teachers. This proposition will simply help line the pockets of union officials and administrators. Schools will continue to be over crowded. Schools will continue to close. Children will continue to again fall far below the national average.

We as taxpayers are dumping more and more money into our schools, yet the money isn't going to theRead More classrooms or the teachers. Instead, we have administrators on top of administrators who are making huge salaries for basically overseeing the same jobs. Our schools in California fall well below all national standards, and our kids aren't prepared for adulthood. It is a shame. I will not vote for any new taxes for our schools until I can see the funds helping teachers and students.

So, what direction should we be looking during these showers?
Sharon Crowley April 16, 2013 at 01:07 am
It will rise in the northeast but will depend on when you're looking. Before dawn on the 22nd shouldRead More be the best time due to a bright moon and number of expected citings. So it won't probably be in the southwest sky then.
Sharon Crowley April 16, 2013 at 01:09 am
Oops meant to say it WOULD be on SW before dawn.

It's devastating. My daughter went there and my son goes there now. Thankfully we were able to putRead More our son into another Merryhill school, but the Merryhill family we have known wont be the same. I hope it was worth it to the owners of the property.

Where are all of those families going to put their children? Very sad for those children unable toRead More be finishing out the school year together. Patty Haydon Miss Patty's Place Preschool

We are so sad to be leaving 3 months early! It was such a shock! We will always be grateful for theRead More amazing care and early education our two daughters have received over the past 8 1/2 years. We are equally grateful that Amber has ensured that our pre-k daughter will have as smooth a transition to Rocklin as possible and worked incredibly hard to smooth the logistics of the transfer over the past 4 weeks. We would certainly follow Amber and the staff to the new school if we had children continuing in preschool. Whatever the property owners have planned for the school, it will never be the place Merryhill was for so many children and families for a whole generation.
