Free Movies in Downtown Roseville's Town Square Start in September

The first film will be "The Blind Side" for the city's "Friday Flicks."

"Friday Flicks," a new monthly event in Downtown Roseville's Town Square, kicks off with "The Blind Side" Sept. 20. 

The starlight cinemas will play on a 30-foot screen in the newly revamped Town Square through December. Blankets, lawn chairs, popcorn and kiddos are welcome. Flicks start at 7:30 p.m.


It's all part of the city's effort to bring more locals to the Town Square, located on Vernon Street. Wine Down Wednesday, a wine-tasting and farmers market night, kicks off Aug. 21. A grand opening celebration of the new Town Square is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 in Downtown Roseville, followed by an evening concert at 7:30 p.m. featuring “Journey Unauthorized,” a Journey tribute band.
