Although the City approved an agreement with SactoMoFo, which represents mobile food trucks like Krush Burger (formerly MiniBurger) and Drewski’s Hot Rod Kitchen, a representative from a new local food truck association urged council to consider working with individuals instead.

“If you would like to work with the trucks individually, and help us help you support the community, we’d hope that you would look at us as an organization that you might want to work with,” a representative from California Mobile Food Association told councilmembers.

Although councilmembers and staff weren't aware of this new organization, they moved forward with an agreement with SactoMoFo.

John Sprague, Community Development director, told councilmembers that they plan to sit down with SactoMoFo “to make sure that they can deliver as we experienced in May and we thought they could do in September.”

The City of Roseville could terminate the contact with SactoMoFo within 10 days, according to City Attorney Brita Bayless, if they decide to do so.

Staff also plans to provide updates on how the monthly food truck roundups are going and how it’s affecting Downtown Roseville businesses.
