Human Remains Found Near Roseville Golf Course Identified

The remains were found near Morgan Creek Golf Course in Roseville in March.

in Roseville March 22 are those of a transient man.

The remains have been identified as Gary Alan Berger, according to Dena Erwin, spokesperson with the Placer County Sheriff's Department.

The cause of death is still pending.

An autopsy performed shortly after the remains were found revealed that there were no obvious signs of foul play. DNA testing was necessary to determine the identity.

The body was found near a bridge and appeared to be underwater in a creek for some time, according to a release from the sheriff's department in March.
