Roseville Man Arrested, Found with Cameras in Pants

Andrew Charles Areshenko was arrested at Best Buy in Auburn after Placer County sheriff's deputies allegedly found two Nikon cameras in his pants.

Placer County sheriff's deputies arrested a Roseville man Wednesday after he allegedly left Best Buy in Auburn with two boxed cameras stuffed down the front of his pants.

A deputy said the man had a "large square bulge in the front of his pants," according to a news release.

Andrew Charles Areshenko, 28, was watched by security officers at the Best Buy store on Bell Road in Auburn, as he placed cameras inside his jacket, according to the Placer County Sheriff's Department. While security called deputies to the store, Areshenko allegedly went inside the men’s restroom with the merchandise.

Deputies waited outside the store for the thief to exit. When Areshenko saw the deputies and one canine officer, he ran back into the store and was soon apprehended by deputies inside the store, according to the news release.

Two Nikon Coolpix cameras, valued at $560, were recovered.

Areshenko was booked at the Placer County Jail on charges of burglary. His bail was set at $135,000.
