Flamingo Fest

Singer, songwriter, humorist and small town philosopher Antsy McClain and his band, The Trailer Park Troubadours, will be performing at the Roseville Theater, 241 Vernon Street, Roseville, CA, Friday, June 15 at 8 PM. They will also be will be performing in Santa Cruz at The Rio Theatre, 1205 Soquel Ave., Santa Cruz, CA, Saturday, June 16 at 8 PM. 

The event is being called “Flamingo Fest” (in celebration of the plastic pink icons seen in trailer parks and at their live shows), and is part of a week-long party rolling through Northern California and Nevada.

McClain and his band will be announcing the release of their new album, “Living the Dream”, combining country, Americana and downright rockin’ music due  June 14th.

Antsy, a nickname given to him as a little boy in Kentucky by his mother, sees this album as what happens when a man looks mortality in the face, sees his own reflection, and takes his friends out for ice cream.

“There’s nothing we can do about the passing of time but enjoy the ride”, says Antsy, who this year celebrates 20 years as a performer and 50 years as a person. 

Staging his live shows from a small, fictitious trailer park called Pine View Heights (patterned after his own childhood surroundings and experiences), McClain is free from an over-abundance of material things and appreciates time with family and friends.

Sharing his mantra of "Enjoy The Ride," McClain has won friendship and collaboration with some of the most talented musicians in the world. With such a wide circle of mentors like Waylon Jennings, Tommy Smothers, guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel and cowboy poet Baxter Black, it's no wonder McClain marches to the beat of a different drum. His influences don't stop there.

McClain's poetry, heart-felt ballads and humorous tales have garnered praise from such artists as Guy Clark, Willie Nelson, Lindsay Buckingham, and David Wilcox, to name a few.

“Roseville and us go way back,” explains McClain, “But it’s been too long. It's a  great town with amazing people. I can't wait to bring the party back.  We’re going to pull out all the stops for Flamingo Fest.”
