Sacramento Burger Battle Lineup Takes Shape

See which burgerific restaurants will offer samples at the Sept. 18 charity benefit. Is there a Roseville restaurant you think should be added to the lineup?

Elk Grove foodie and man-about-town Rodney Blackwell has finalize the lineup for his upcoming , and it’s quite mouthwatering.

In fact, we were so inspired reading about all the burgerlicious options that we had to run out and get a burger of our own. Ours came from the Tower Café (the Borracho, a half-pounder with fried onions and spicy barbecue sauce, if you must know)—which isn’t one of the restaurants competing in the Sept. 18 event at Raley Field.

But there are a number of other familiar names on the list of competitors, including The Chef's Table in Rocklin (); (which has a Roseville location); Sacramento’s newish Southern food restaurant The Porch; and Krush Burger (formerly Mini Burger Truck), the popular burgermobile that makes regular stops in Roseville.

For a ticket price of $55, attendees can sample creations from these and 12 other restaurants at the event, which benefits the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Dessert, wine tasting and prize giveaways are also included.

Judges include Elk Grove’s Bret Bohlmann of , food writers Rick Kushman and Erin Jackson, and Corti Brothers’ Rick Mindermann. Burger Battle attendees will also have the chance to vote for their favorite in a People's Choice best burger award. 

Even though there aren't many Roseville eateries included in this competition, Roseville Patch readers are having their own burger battle in in Roseville. .
