Roseville's Lead Hill Blvd Walmart to Temporarily Close for 1 Year

Employees will temporarily relocate to the Rocklin Walmart Supercenter opening in the fall.

Walmart shoppers in eastern Roseville will have to travel to west Roseville or Rocklin later this fall, as the Walmart on Lead Hill Boulevard will temporarily close for a remodel.

The Rocklin Walmart Supercenter will open at 5402 Crossings Drive and Roseville employees will temporarily transfer to that location during the closure, according to Rachel Wall, Walmart senior manager of communications said in an email.

“The Roseville Walmart on Lead Hill Boulevard will undergo an approximate 1-year remodel process and is anticipated to re-open fall of 2014 with an improved floor plan, the latest in energy and water efficiency technology as well as a full grocery department,” Wall wrote.

Before it’s re-opening, about 200 new jobs will be available at the new store; a temporary hiring center will open in the summer of 2014, according to Wall.

Currently the Roseville Walmart employs about 200 employees. When both Walmarts are open, both stores will employ about 500 associates combined, according to Wall.

The Walmart Supercenter has been under construction since February at Rocklin Crossings on Sierra College Boulevard at Interstate 80, about six miles from the Roseville Lead Hill Boulevard Walmart location.

There's also another Walmart in Roseville at 900 Pleasant Grove Blvd.
